Indoor Masters

After few years of arrangements, we have at last Polish indoor championship. The championship will be played very similarly to the German "Hallenmasters", competition with relatively long history. Unfortunately after 2 weeks from the beginning of the masters, when no tournament had taken place, masters were cancelled. Clubs argued, that they knew schedule of the masters too late and couldn't change their plans. Some notes about cancelled masters.

    5. Tournament coefficient

Tournament coefficient is based on the position of the competitors in the tables of 1. and 2.League. 1st team in 1. League gets 36 points and each next in the table one point less. 18th team gets 19 points. 1st team in 2.League gets 18 points (both groups) and each next in tha tables one point less. 18th team gets 1 point. Each foreign team gets 27 points (if 1.League) or 9 points (if 2.League). Home team (if not 1. or 2.League team) gets 0 points. Tournament coefficient is a sum of these points for each team competing in the tournament divided by 13 (total tournament points to achieve).

    Examples:

    Tournament X.
    Competitors: 6.
    List of competitors (League, position):

    Coefficient: 98 / 13 = 7.54

    6. Ranking points

Tournament points multiplied with tournament coefficient.

    In our example:

  • 1. place - 6 x 7.54 = 45 (rounded)
  • 2. place - 4 x 7.54 = 30
  • 3. place - 2 x 7.54 = 15
  • 4. place - 1 x 7.54 = 8

    7. Ranking

Ranking is based on ranking points achieved in all Masters tournaments. Top 8 teams from the ranking get to the Masters final.

    8. Competition scheme

In the tournaments 6 or 8 teams participate. There are two groups of 3 (or 4). In the froup phase each team plays against each. Top two teams get to the semifinal and play as below.
